My Story

In 2011, my husband and I decided to try for another baby, and to our delight I was soon expecting.  However, when we underwent screening the baby was found to have a chromosome abnormality.  Here began the worst months of my life, where we researched and talked and cried and took advice from experts, and eventually took the decision not to go through with the pregnancy.  We had already told our two sons they would be having a brother, which added another dimension of heartbreak and grief.

Through this period the support I received from Arc was invaluable, and this helped me to live through this experience and come out the other side.  When I then fell pregnant with my young son Caden, I also received support from Arc, as I was extremely worried that something similar may happen again.  Luckily Caden was born happy and healthy in 2012.

Since this time I have wanted to fundraise for Arc, to say thank you, and to help support the services they provide.  I am fundraising via donations to this page.  I am also fundraising via playing two concerts and releasing a song, details of these separate ventures are at www.brickwallmusic.com/news  .
