My Story

I signed up to run the Reading Half Marathon to support my friend Emma, it will be our first event.

Then my other friend Mel asked me to do the Great South Run with her and of course I accepted.

I thought I’d quite like to give my local half marathon a go after cheering on all the Bracknell Half Marathon runners last year, so I will do that aswell.

I did not imagine myself doing these long distance runs at all and the training has been tough, I am not a natural runner and I really don’t like the cold. I have surprised myself at how far my training has come along, I find it particularly hard to go out alone but if I want to succeed and get to the finish lines I have to drag myself out there.

I was not looking for a sponsor page, I just agreed to run to support my friends, but I keep finding little white feathers on my runs and I like to think Lacey is willing me on. So if you do have any spare pennies and you would like to donate to one, two or all of my events then Arc is my chosen charity.  If I can help one family through their beveavement then that will spur me on to keep going.

How your money can help

£5 pays for the helpline to support one anxious parent or couple

£10 pays for an information and support pack for a bereaved or expectant parent

£20 pays for the website for a day – providing essential information for parents and healthcare professionals

Thank you in advance, wish me luck 😊
