My Story

I have decided to challange myself to run the Manchester Marathon next April in memory of my 3 Angels.

ARC is a charity that the majority of people will never of heard of, I hadn't myself untill I needed their support and the support I received was vital to me during some of the most difficult times of my whole life!

They provide support to parents who are faced with their baby being diagnosed with or at risk of having a serious fetal anomaly.

They provide non-directive information to support parents during this difficult time and are there to support parents and familys regardless of the decisions they decide to make.

They also run courses with healthcare professionals to assist them in providing better support for people through these difficult times.

ARC are a charity that I found myself needing after making the difficult decision to terminate 3 of my pregnancies, all of them babies that i think about every second of every day, babies that I had picked names for, babies that I had planned futures for and babies that I have to live everyday wishing were still here with me. ARC provided a safe place for me to be able to talk to other people who had been in my shoes, or who were walking in them with me.

Babyloss is still a Taboo subject although things are much better than they were in the past, however I feel that the babyloss I suffered is still very much Taboo people are worried about being judged for their choices and so choose in many cases not to share it. When you lose a baby you need support more than anything, I am lucky enough to have that support in bucketfuls from family and friends yet I still found that talking to people who had been through the same thing brought a different kind of comfort! And there are many people i connected with who were scared to even share their decision with their closest family for fear of being judged.

This is why I have chosen to raise funds for ARC, they are a fabulous charity who do not get enough time in the limelight! They do a fabulous job and rely on donations to be able to continue to support familys in their hour of need and for many years beyond!
