My Story

My sister, Claire and I are teaming up together to raise awareness and money to show our appreciation to the amazing charity ARC.

After our 12 weeks screening we found out that our unborn baby had a fatal chromosome abnormality. We really didn’t understand what this meant, we were in complete shock and immense sadness. ARC were able to advise us and tell us things that even the healthcare professionals had not experienced due to it being so specialised. In a state of despair the hard facts and support from ARC were exactly what we needed through all the weeks of waiting.

I will also be applying for any money raised to to be matched £1 for £1 up to £1000 by my employer.

A message from Claire:

I really wish things could have been different. I never imagined this happening to my sister and brother in law, they have been and continue to be incredibly brave and strong in an unbearable situation; whilst always being the most loving parents to Grace.

I recently decided to set the challenge to run the Cumbrian Run on October 6th 2019. This event seemed fitting due to it falling in the month that would have been my sister’s due date and it is Baby Loss Awareness Week in October too.

Each step will be in memory and with the hope that the money and awareness raised will help ARC to continue their invaluable work in supporting and comforting other people in similar situations.

Thank you very much for any donations they really are appreciated xxx
