My Story

I will be taking part in the world's most iconic half marathon, the Great North Run, on the 9th September, 2018 to raise money for the charity Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC). In 2014, we sadly found out during a routine scan, that our much loved and wanted baby had severe and fatal abnormalities and would not survive. After further consultations, we said goodbye to him, something that remains the saddest thing I have ever had to do.

ARC is the only national charity providing non-directive information, help and support to thousands of expectant parents throughout the antenatal screening process and it's consequences, including bereavement support. I will forever be grateful to their helpline and online forum. They were an amazing support to us during our heartbreaking and traumatic time. They also provide training and literature to health professionals to help them with this difficult aspect of their job.

I would really like to raise as much money as possible to thank ARC for the support that they gave to us, and to enable them to continue with this important and specialist work. All donations, whatever the amount, will be gratefully received.

Thank you for your time and for supporting me :-)
